In light of the switch to remote work, many businesses are juggling four to six different communication tools on a daily basis. Employees are sending messages to teammates through Slack, jumping on video conferences with clients through Google Meet and joining weekly stand-ups via Microsoft Teams. Sound familiar?

If it does, then you understand the frustration and time-wasting associated with that. So let’s introduce you to Cisco Webex — your one-stop communication solution.

What is Webex?

Webex is a communication and collaboration tool created by Cisco that allows users to host or participate in online meetings, screen sharing and video conferencing with up to 1000 participants per virtual meeting room.

Whether you’re on your phone or sitting at your desk, Webex makes it easy for you to join meetings wherever and whenever. How is this possible? This leading collaboration application merges two different platforms into one platform: which are Webex Meeting, and Webex Teams. Let’s get a little deeper into each.

Webex Meetings

Webex Meeting is a cloud-based video conferencing service that allows your team to collaborate virtually anywhere across the globe. But what if you want to collaborate with someone who does not have Webex Meetings? Is it possible? Yes! Webex Meeting seamlessly integrates with popular platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Slack, Outlook, Google Calendar and Office 365.

Webex Teams

Webex Teams is a cloud-based collaboration application that supports video conferencing, instant messaging, file sharing and whiteboarding. Just like Webex Meeting, teams seamlessly integrate into popular third-party applications like Salesforce, Asana and many more project management tools.

Webex teams also allows you to keep track of projects, securely share files and messages all in one place called “Spaces”. These Spaces are customized and organized around different workstreams. It is also important to note the calling aspect – you can combine your collaboration with your business telephony with a fully integrated PBX and collaboration solution.

How does Webex work?

Once installed, Webex makes hosting, joining and sharing meetings as simple as 1-2-3. Whether you’re new to Webex or a Cisco veteran, you can navigate through the app pain-free thanks to the user-friendly interface.
